THE TRICKSTER
The Trickster — Lord of Edge Cases
The Trickster is not here to help you. He is here to break every beautiful idea you fall in love with — by feeding it the one input you forgot to think about.
Represents
Adversarial input and chaotic behaviour. The Trickster embodies “the judge’s worst test case” — empty lists, gigantic arrays, weird orders, corrupted data, and users who do the one thing you swore nobody would.
He Asks
- “What if the input is empty, huge, sorted, reversed, or evil?” He mutates every assumption until something snaps.
- “Where does this blow up?” Overflow, infinite loops, race conditions, precision loss, timeouts.
- “Can I construct a counterexample?” A specific input that proves the algorithm isn’t as general as it looks.
Default Lens
Stress tests, fuzzing, worst-case complexity, and failure modes. When the Trickster walks through a story, you can almost hear hidden invariants snapping in the background.

All arcs — but loudest in Legendary Crises, where every solution must survive his cruelty before the kingdom can trust it.
